Professional Internship for Economists at FUNDEC – Open Positions in Maputo

The FUNDEC – Foundation for Business Competitiveness of Mozambique is recruiting two Economist Interns (m/f) to join its programs in economic research, business policy analysis, and economic development. If you hold a degree in Economics, are up to 30 years old, and are looking for an opportunity to apply your knowledge to real projects, this vacancy could be your next step. We are looking for young professionals with high analytical potential, a passion for applied economics, and a desire to contribute to solutions that impact the business environment in Mozambique. What you will do on a daily basis

  • Support the preparation of economic studies, technical reports, and sectoral analyses that guide strategic decisions.

  • Carry out collection, processing, and analysis of economic and statistical data, ensuring accuracy and quality.

  • Participate in research on competitiveness, investment, employment, and the business environment, focusing on practical solutions.

  • Support the preparation of presentations, workshops, and institutional events for FUNDEC.

  • Contribute to the production of technical and economic content that positions the foundation as a reference in the sector.

The profile we are looking for

We value candidates with a degree in Economics, aged up to 30, and solid knowledge of economic and statistical analysis. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) is essential, and knowledge of SPSS, STATA, EViews, or Power BI is a competitive advantage. We also seek strong research skills, technical writing, critical analysis, effective communication, teamwork, and a high sense of responsibility, ethics, and professionalism.
