RINA, an international engineering and management consultancy, is recruiting Agricultural Engineers to join a new and ambitious long-term project in Mozambique. This is a unique opportunity to apply technical knowledge in a real agricultural development context, with direct impact on local communities and food security in the region.
About the Project
The project will start in the coming weeks and will take place in a structured environment, with multicultural teams and international quality and sustainability standards. Placements will be in the provinces of Inhambane, Zambézia, Nampula, and Niassa, areas of high agricultural potential and great need for technical innovation.
What the Role Involves
As an Agricultural Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring agricultural practices that increase crop productivity and resilience, considering the specific soil and climate conditions of each region. Activities include:
Conduct agronomic diagnoses and recommend cultivation, rotation, and fertilization techniques adapted to local soil and climate.
Monitor field execution, ensuring adoption of good agricultural practices and efficient use of water resources and inputs.
Train farmers and local technicians, promoting knowledge transfer and community autonomy.
Prepare technical and progress reports, ensuring traceability and compliance with project objectives.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for professionals with a degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, or related fields, and at least 3 years of experience in rural development or commercial agriculture projects. We value:
Solid knowledge of agricultural production systems in tropical climates, including pest and disease management.
Familiarity with participatory methodologies and rural extension.
Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and in resource-limited contexts.
Proficiency in English (written and spoken) for communication with the international team and report writing.
Mozambican nationality (preferred) or legal residence in the country.
