Industrial Maintenance and Instrumentation Area

• 1. Technician – Instrument Maintenance

  • Profile: Diploma in relevant field or completion of PEC Craft Training. Minimum of 3 years of post-diploma experience in a smelter (foundry) or heavy industry environment (exemption from experience for those who completed PEC Craft Training).

  • Functions: Perform corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance on instrumentation and control with minimal supervision; technically evaluate the work and select appropriate tools.

• 2. Technician – Electrical Maintenance

  • Profile: Diploma in the field or completion of PEC Craft Training. Minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy industry (exemption from experience for PEC Craft Training graduates).

  • Technical Requirement: Experience with LV/MV Motors, LV Switchboards, MCCs, Plant Lighting, Transformers, UPS, VFDs, circuit breakers and Soft Starters. Mastery of the SAP system for parts requisition.

• 3. Technician – Mechanical Maintenance

  • Profile: Diploma in the field or completion of PEC Craft Training. Minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy industry (exempt for those who have PEC Craft Training). Solid computer skills.

  • Technical Requirement: Good command of spoken and written English; ability to interpret engineering drawings, manuals and act in troubleshooting.

• 4. Field Operator

  • Profile: Secondary Education Certificate. Minimum of 4 years of experience in Power Station (Electrical Plants) and at least 2 years as Desalination Operator (PG7) or equivalent.

  • Skills: Operational proficiency in all areas (except DCR Operation); English for shift reports; applied mathematics (calculations of concentration, percentage, conversions) and interpretation of Single Line Diagrams.

  • Profile: Secondary Education Certificate. Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Potroom Utility Operator.

  • Skills: Good physical condition to work shifts in the Potroom; basic English; ability to operate Pot Tending Machines, Anode Beam Raising Equipment and production line fleets.

• 6. Technician – Electrical Energy

  • Profile: Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Craft/Trade Certificate or equivalent. For graduates, a minimum of 5 years of experience in Power Plants and Substations is required; for technical certificate holders, minimum of 8 years in electrical maintenance.

  • Skills: Fluent English (reading, writing and speaking); basic computing; familiarity with generators, motors, transformers and Switchgear.

• 7. Technician – Mechanical Energy

  • Profile: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Craft/Trade Certificate. Diploma holders need 5 years in Thermal Power Plant; Technical Certificate holders need 8 years in mechanical maintenance.

  • Technical Requirement: Practical experience in overhaul (general overhaul) of GE Frame 9E/9FA gas turbines, steam turbines, heat recovery boilers (Waste Heat Boilers), thermal desalination systems and BOP (Balance of Plant).
