ProgettoMondo ETS, an Italian NGO with consolidated operations in Mozambique, opens a vacancy for Professional Technical Education Activities Coordinator within the scope of the project “Sprigioniamo i talenti – AID 13244/05/6”. This is a unique opportunity for professionals who wish to generate real social impact, working on the socioeconomic (re)insertion of detained people, by improving the training offer in prisons and creating work alternatives, including modern cooperative practices. What does the role involve?

As a Coordinator, you will be the technical point of reference for the local team and partners, ensuring that technical-professional training activities in the three penitentiary establishments achieve the project objectives with excellence. The project operates at the Maputo Provincial Penitentiary Establishment (EPPM), in Machava; at the Special Penitentiary Establishment for Juvenile Recovery (EPERJ), in Boane; and at the Special Penitentiary Establishment for Women (EPEM), in Ndlavela.

Main responsibilities

Coordination of the Professional Technical Education sector

  • Analyze and review existing curricula, proposing new areas of training based on diagnosis and market demand.

  • Collaborate with national and local authorities to collect data and assess needs training.

  • Participate in the selection of providers for training of trainers (ToT) and monitor the entire process.

  • Monitor and evaluate implemented programs, integrating innovative methodologies and active learning practices.

  • Prepare training materials, guides and resources; conduct training sessions directly when necessary.

  • Establish links with the local community and other organizations to share good practices and promote social inclusion.

  • Act as a mentor to participants, supporting the identification of employment opportunities and the development of career plans.

  • Develop detailed work plans (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual) in coordination with project coordinators project.

  • Support the production of technical, photographic material and texts for communication and visibility of the project.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Reports

  • Responsible for monitoring and evaluating ToT courses and courses in penitentiary establishments.

  • Implement feedback systems for continuous improvement of programs.

  • Prepare reports periodic updates on progress, challenges and recommendations.

  • Continuously monitor project activities and advise on emerging needs.

  • Support the evaluation and selection of consultants, suppliers and service providers.

  • Document case studies and success stories.

The ideal profile

We are looking for a professional with a Degree in Education Sciences, Pedagogy or relevant area, with a minimum of 5 years of proven experience in technical-professional training and at least 3 years in cooperation projects. It is essential to have strong collaboration skills with different institutions, dialogue with vulnerable people, technical humility and ability to solve problems. Knowledge of the local job market and social inclusion policies is a plus. fluency in English (C2), command of Portuguese and knowledge of local languages are required, in addition to advanced computer skills (Office package, management systems).

Contractual conditions

  • Duration: 12 months, with a 60-day trial period and possibility of renewal.

  • Salary: Competitive, according to experience.

  • Location: City and Province of Maputo (with trips to penitentiary establishments).
