A FUNDEC – Foundation for Business Competitiveness of Mozambique is recruiting two (2) Economist Interns to join its economic research, business policy analysis, and economic development programs. This is a unique opportunity for recent graduates who wish to apply their knowledge in real economics, contributing to solutions that directly impact the business environment and the country's competitiveness. The internship is in-person, in Maputo, and offers practical immersion in applied research and strategic knowledge production.

What you will do on a daily basis
As an economist intern at FUNDEC, your work will be varied and have real impact. You will support the preparation of economic studies and technical reports that guide public and business policy decisions. You will also collect, process, and analyze economic and statistical data using tools such as Excel, SPSS, or STATA. You will actively participate in research on competitiveness, investment, employment, and the business environment, in addition to contributing to the preparation of presentations, workshops, and institutional events. Your technical and economic output will be essential to position FUNDEC as a reference in the sector.
The profile we are looking for
We are looking for young graduates in Economics, up to 30 years old, who demonstrate high analytical potential and genuine interest in applied economics. Solid knowledge of economic analysis and statistics, proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint), and strong research, technical writing, and critical analysis skills are essential. Knowledge of SPSS, STATA, EViews, or Power BI is a competitive advantage. We also value good communication, teamwork, sense of responsibility, ethics, and professionalism.
