We are looking for a Gender and Inclusion Specialist who will be responsible for monitoring and implementing the activities of the project “Brotos do Futuro. Cultivating Green and Digital Employment Opportunities in Mozambique” in Quelimane

Main Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the planning, implementation and monitoring of activities, ensuring that they respond to the specific needs of women, girls and groups in vulnerable situations

  • Support in the development of an institutional gender policy

  • Support in the definition of strategies and interventions that reduce sociocultural barriers and promote greater female participation in training paths and project initiatives

  • Collaborate in the organization and facilitation of awareness, training and information actions on gender and inclusion topics, aimed at staff, beneficiaries and communities

  • Provide technical support to women in the development of initiatives promoted within the scope of the project

  • Ensure the active participation of women in all processes of planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of activities;

  • Identify risks, obstacles or situations of vulnerability and propose mitigation measures or corrective strategies

  • Contribute to the development of data collection tools disaggregated and for the definition of gender-sensitive indicators

  • Monitor and analyze participation and project results with a focus on equality and inclusion, identifying challenges and recommending appropriate solutions.

  • Support dialogue and coordination with different relevant actors and participate in technical meetings and platforms that address gender and inclusion issues in coordination with the project manager

  • Resolve, in coordination with the Gender Specialist Consultant, all questions that arise or are raised by partners and authorities and provide whatever is necessary for the smooth progress of the work, and ensure compliance with it

Others

  • Ensure quality, transparency and efficiency in all aspects of the work;

  • Support and facilitate the consolidation of an environment of increasing collaboration between all stakeholders, local authorities and other national and foreign NGOs

  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding all documents and issues related to the organization;

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Sociology, Education, Development or related areas Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in implementation of international cooperation projects with NGOs, preferably related to gender equality, social inclusion, female empowerment or work with vulnerable groups.

  • Be based in Quelimane, with availability for occasional travel to the districts where the project is implemented.

  • Skills in integrating the gender approach (gender mainstreaming) in programs, policies and institutional activities

  • Proven knowledge in management of project cycle (planning, execution, monitoring, reporting)

  • Demonstrated ability for effective verbal and written communication, negotiation, multitasking and organizational skills (time management and ability to prioritize activities);

  • Ability to work autonomously and in a multicultural team

  • Computer skills (Office Package: Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working with public institutional partners (ministries, training institutes, employment agencies) and civil society organizations;

  • Experience in vocational training programs (TVET) or youth entrepreneurship initiatives

  • Fluency in English and knowledge of the Italian language is preferred;

  • Previous experience working on international and/or AICS-funded projects;

  • Demonstrated ability to work in pressured environments and demanding contexts.
