QAQC Coordinator – Mecwide Group (Mozambique)

What the role involves
As a QAQC Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing and installation processes meet the strictest quality and safety standards. Your main activities include:
Quality control team management: lead QC technicians, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and individual accountability.
Development of plans and procedures: prepare the Project Quality Plan (PQP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), work instructions, and other normative documents.
Supervision of inspections: ensure compliance through surveillance and on-site inspections, including supplier audits when necessary.
Welding engineering activities: review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Qualification Records (WPQR) according to codes such as ASME, EN, and API.
Prevention and resolution of non-conformities: proactively identify deviations, issue early warnings, and ensure closure of non-conformities.
Report preparation: provide weekly inputs to the QAQC Manager, reporting trends and exceptions.
Final documentation: prepare the declaration of performance according to EN 1090-1 and compile the final Data Book for delivery to the client.
The ideal profile
We are looking for a professional with a degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Industrial Engineering or a similar field, or with at least 3 years of experience as QAQC in relevant companies. It is essential:
Mastery of international standards: familiarity with EN 1090, ASME B31.3, API 650, EN 13480 and welding codes.
Knowledge of management systems: ISO 9001 and system integration.
Proficiency in Office tools: advanced Excel and Word.
Languages: fluent English and Portuguese (reading, writing and conversation).
Availability: to reside and work in Mozambique.
