Purpose of the Role and Scope of Action

The Sales Assistant will be the bank's growth engine in their assigned region. The professional will work on the front line of prospecting new clients and actively marketing the portfolio of financial products and services (current accounts, cards, time deposits, credit lines, and digital solutions), ensuring personalized service and strict compliance with the regulatory standards of the Bank of Mozambique.

Key Responsibilities and Commercial Functions

  • External Prospecting and Acquisition: Identify and capture new structured clients (Medium/High Income Private Clients and Small and Medium Enterprises - SMEs) through external commercial visits to companies, markets, and local partners.

  • Consultative Product Sales: Promote and close sales of banking ecosystem products, including credit/debit cards, insurance, consumer credit, and enrollment in digital channels (Internet Banking and Mobile Applications).

  • Loyalty and Cross-Selling: Manage and retain the initial relationship with the acquired client portfolio, identifying financial needs to apply cross-selling techniques (cross-selling).

  • Compliance and KYC Assurance: Collect, analyze, and validate mandatory legal documentation for account opening and credit facility granting, mitigating risks and complying with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies.

  • Goal and Performance Management: Strictly meet the monthly and quarterly sales objectives and targets set by the institution's Commercial Management.

Profile and Minimum Required Qualifications

We seek dynamic professionals with an entrepreneurial mindset and strong customer orientation:

  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 1 to 2 years of practical experience in sales and commercial service, with a strong preference for the banking, insurance, telecommunications, or large-scale financial retail sectors.

  • Education and Training: Completed General High School; technical courses or vocational training in Sales, Marketing, Management or Business Administration will be considered a strong competitive advantage.

  • Technical Skills: Practical knowledge of prospecting and closing sales techniques; basic familiarity with KYC/AML procedures; proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel) and ease of adapting to new banking software.

  • Languages: Fluency in Portuguese and functional knowledge of English (spoken and written communication).

  • Personal Attributes: Aggressive sales profile, excellent persuasion skills, negotiation power, organizational dynamism, and high psychological resilience to work under target pressure.
