Reports to

The Junior Project Technician will support the implementation of the Girls' Club activities, a human development initiative focused on girls' education, prevention of early marriage, and empowerment of young women in rural communities of Cheringoma District. The professional will be responsible for ensuring the efficient execution of Club activities, engaging the community, organizing events, and training members and participants.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordination of Activities

  • Organize and facilitate Club activities, including training sessions, workshops, lectures, and other educational interventions, ensuring their regularity and quality.

  • Plan and coordinate the activity calendar in liaison with the Project Officer, ensuring alignment with the Club's objectives.

Community Mobilization

  • Engage parents, guardians, teachers, community leaders, and other community members, promoting sustained adherence and support for Club activities.

  • Actively promote the participation of girls and young women, identifying and overcoming cultural and social barriers that limit their inclusion. Education and Awareness

  • Conduct educational sessions on sexual and reproductive health, prevention of early marriage, biodiversity conservation, hygiene, children's rights, and other topics relevant to the comprehensive development of participants.

  • Adapt educational content to the local cultural and linguistic context, ensuring understanding and active engagement of participants.

Safety and Protection

  • Ensure the safety and protection of children, girls, and boys during activities, including identifying and removing potential risks, mediating conflicts through dialogue and respect, and other procedures to be created and established by the Foundation.

  • Be open to receiving reports of early marriage, concerns, and complaints with ethics and confidentiality, and forward them to the Project Officer.

Logistics and Daily Meals Management

  • Ensure the organization and availability of educational and logistical materials necessary for the regular operation of the Club.

  • Ensure the daily preparation of meals for members of the Girls' Club in Condue Serração LevasFlor, using the food available in the Club's pantry.

 Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting

  • Monitor and report the progress of activities, assess the impact of interventions, and suggest improvements to the Project Officer.

  • Prepare weekly reports on activities carried out, challenges encountered, and results achieved, using the formats defined by FLF.

  • Document best practices, success stories, and lessons learned throughout the project implementation.

PROFILE AND REQUIREMENTS

 Education and Experience

  • Secondary education from the National Education System (SNE).

  • Minimum of one year experience working with youth or children, preferably in a community or NGO context.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of girls' education, sexual and reproductive health, and community development.

  • Ability to facilitate events, recreational activities with children, and training sessions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Personal Skills and Other Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural team.

  • Community mobilization skills and ability to build trust with rural communities.

  • It is a priority requirement that the candidate is female.

  • Willingness to live and work in rural areas of the district, in rustic and hard-to-reach environments with limited infrastructure, and to participate in community activities.

 Languages

  • Fluency in Portuguese and Ci-Sena — Mandatory.
