Our client is a leading company in the Port Logistics sector and is seeking a professional to lead the maintenance function, with a focus on equipment reliability, availability, and operational safety. This role is well suited to candidates with strong industrial maintenance experience and management capability who are ready to take on a central role in operational continuity, cost control, and the improvement of technical and safety standards.

Role overview

The selected professional will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring preventive and corrective maintenance plans, ensuring the continuous operation of equipment and reducing failures that affect operations. The role will also involve actively coordinating technical interventions, managing scheduled shutdowns, and tracking performance indicators, with the goal of improving maintenance efficiency and ensuring compliance with international operating standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans.

  • Ensure the availability and proper functioning of operational equipment.

  • Supervise technical teams in the electrical and mechanical areas.

  • Ensure strict compliance with safety and HSE standards.

  • Monitor maintenance KPIs and propose continuous improvement actions.

  • Manage the maintenance budget and oversee cost control.

  • Coordinate technical interventions and scheduled shutdowns with minimal impact on operations.

  • Ensure compliance with the technical and operational standards required by the sector.

Candidate profile

The role requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance is required, including at least 2 years in management roles. Proven experience in maintenance management, preventive and corrective maintenance, performance indicator analysis, and leading technical teams will be highly valued.

Strong command of CMMS-type maintenance systems, a consistent approach to operational safety, and a continuous improvement mindset are also important. Fluency in English will be considered an advantage. For this position, residence in Nacala and Mozambican nationality are mandatory requirements.
