The positions are destined for the Nanlia operational unit, in the Province of Cabo Delgado. The central objective of this role is to support the development, implementation and monitoring of health, safety and environmental management systems within the quarry, ensuring legal and operational compliance.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The HSE Assistant will provide direct support to the production and logistics teams, assuming the following responsibilities:

• Legal and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with current legislation (such as safety and mining inspection regulations, occupational health and environmental protection laws), keeping up to date with industry standards. sector.

• Risk Management and Inspections: Carry out frequent inspections, audits and risk assessments on all work fronts of the quarry (drilling, blasting, crushing, load transport, processing, workshops and internal traffic management), mitigating potential hazards.

• Training and Awareness: Provide safety integrations (inductions), daily prevention lectures (toolbox talks) and refresher training for workers, contractors and visitors, in addition to planning health and safety training routines for all staff.

• Incident and Emergency Management: Lead incident investigations in the area, identify root causes, prepare formal reports and monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions, providing support in the planning of drills and first aid.

• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain organized and updated records of all inspections, incidents and training, being responsible for preparing monthly safety performance reports.

Candidate Profile and Minimum Requirements

MOZQUARRIES seeks professionals focused on a "safety first" culture who meet the following requirements:

• Education and Certification: Professional certificate in Work Health and Safety or equivalent.

• Practical Experience: Demonstrated experience in quarrying, mining or heavy industries (highly preferred), with strong knowledge of the risks associated with blasting, operation of heavy equipment, dust and waste management traffic.

• Technical Skills: Ability to investigate incidents and root cause analysis, as well as digital literacy in the MS Office suite and HSE reporting systems.

• Languages: Strong command and fluency in Portuguese and English (verbal and written communication mandatory).

• Behavioral Profile: Proactive posture, excellent communication skills, emotional intelligence to remain calm in high pressure situations and competence to build trusting relationships with the workforce.
