Applications are now open for the hiring, under a service provision arrangement, ofField TechniciansandTechnician for the Information Coordination Center (CCI), within the scope ofDFCI — Forest Fire Defense. The roles are intended for the provinces ofManicaandZambezia, with expected activity fromJuly 1 to October 31, 2026. We are seeking professionals with a strong technical background, practical experience in rural contexts, and the ability to work with data, field operations, and operational teams, contributing directly to the prevention, monitoring, and management of forest fire risk.
Role overview
The available positions require technical work focused on information collection, support to field operations, structured reporting, and daily monitoring of activities. For Field Technicians, the focus is on execution and technical support alongside teams and communities. For the CCI Technician, the role is more focused on processing, organizing, and analyzing information, with a strong GIS, GPS, and reporting and map production component to support decision-making.
Main responsibilities
Field Technicians
Support the technical team in day-to-day operational activities.
Provide technical assistance in rural and community extension matters.
Conduct field information surveys and support report preparation.
Ensure data collection in accordance with defined standards.
Report information to the direct supervisor and competent authorities.
Ensure the daily recording and storage of information in the database.
Monitor and report activity progress to the CCI.
CCI Technician
Support field information collection and the preparation of technical reports.
Ensure the collection, processing, and entry of information into databases.
Support the technical team with daily reporting on fire risk status.
Ensure the daily storage of collected information.
Manage and report daily on the status of activities.
Use GIS for information analysis and processing, as well as map production.
Profile and requirements
For both roles, the requirement isa higher education degree in Forestry Engineering or Agricultural Sciences. Practical and contextualized knowledge ofForest Fire Defense, road opening and firebreaks, silviculture, use ofMicrosoft Office,GISandGPS, as well as work experience in rural areas in Mozambique, is valued.
It is also important to demonstrate knowledge ofland legislation and Land Use and Benefit Rights, formal and informal governance structures in Mozambique, the cultural dynamics of the provinces where PMz operates, and the eucalyptus production and exploitation chain. For Field Technicians, avalid driving license, with at least1 year of experience driving manual vehicles, is mandatory. For the CCI role, a driving license with that experience is an advantage.
On the behavioral side, we are looking for a profile with real organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, combined with integrity, proactivity, good communication, and availability to respond to the operational demands of the role, including work outside normal hours when necessary.
