The Regional Water Administration of the Center, Public Institute (ARA-Centro, IP), a reference institution in the strategic and operational management of water resources in Mozambique, announces the opening of a competition to fill 1 vacancy for Professional Laboratory Technician. This opportunity, integrated within the scope of cooperation with the Maswater Project (funded by the Netherlands), is intended for dynamic professionals who wish to work at the institution's headquarters, located in Tete, contributing directly to the environmental quality and sustainability of the region.

Responsibilities and Main Activities

The selected professional will be responsible for ensuring technical excellence in laboratory analyses. Duties include:

• Perform systematic collection and rigorous analysis of surface and groundwater samples;

• Continuously monitor water quality trends, ensuring the updating of environmental databases;

• Process samples strictly following Environmental Safety Best Practices and specific protocols for hydraulic oil analysis;

• Operate, configure, and calibrate high-precision laboratory equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and diagnostic accuracy;

• Collaborate in the preparation of terms of reference for the acquisition of reagents, materials, and equipment essential to the laboratory;

• Monitor and inspect activities with significant impact on water resources;

• Provide technical support to the Laboratory Manager in the supervision and preventive maintenance of equipment.

Qualifications and Candidate Profile

To join this team, the candidate must meet the following requirements:

• Professional secondary education in Chemistry;

• Technical proficiency in water quality analysis;

• Proven experience in laboratory routines and practices.
