Opportunity: Project Manager - VBG and Education

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating, implementing and monitoring all components of the project, ensuring delivery within the deadline, budget and standards of Plan International and donor AFD. The role requires strategic leadership, supervision of a multi-sector team and integration of cross-cutting themes such as conflict sensitivity, safeguarding, gender equality and inclusion of people with disabilities.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the Detailed Implementation Plan, annual, quarterly and monthly plans.

  • Translate the approved proposal, logical framework and budget into clear operational plans for Plan and Plan partners. consortium.

  • Ensure coherent delivery in the areas of Education, WASH, youth livelihoods, social cohesion, protection, gender equality, inclusion of people with disabilities and local governance.

  • Coordinate regular project review meetings to assess progress, identify bottlenecks and agree corrective actions.

  • Ensure that all activities are implemented in a timely manner. conflict sensitive, gender transformative, inclusive and accountable.

  • Maintain strong field presence and practical problem solving in Mecufi and Memba districts.

  • Identify and operationalize synergies between the EU Stabilization project and the ECHO-funded REACH project.

  • Coordinate with Plan International Mozambique, Plan International Finland, Helvetas, MUVA, OMD and other partners.

  • Ensure that protection, GBV risk mitigation, safeguarding, referral pathways and secure reporting mechanisms are incorporated into all activities.

  • Work with MERL and technical teams to use evidence and community feedback in tailoring implementation.

  • Serve as project budget manager or key focal point.

Candidate Profile ideal

  • Master's in International Development, Project Management, Education, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Economics, Engineering, Humanitarian Action or related areas. Bachelor's degree with relevant experience may be considered.

  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in managing complex development, humanitarian, stabilization or nexus programs.

  • At least 3 years in a senior project management role, with responsibility for budgeting, team supervision, partner coordination and reporting to donors.

  • Experience proven in managing EUfunded projects (DG INTPA, EUD or equivalent institutional donors).

  • Strong understandingof EU compliance rules, reporting, procurement principles, visibility requirements, cost eligibility and audit readiness.
