The vacancies are intended for the provinces of Gaza, Cabo Delgado and Niassa, with immediate availability for a contract initial 6 months. The objective of the program is to improve the accessibility and coverage of nutrition services in communities and health units, in line with national policies to combat malnutrition.
What does a Provincial Technical Coordinator do?
As the focal point of the program at provincial level, you will be the face of N’weti in the province, ensuring that the PIN strategy and goals are met with excellence. You will lead the local team, coordinate activities with the Provincial Health Directorate (DPS) and other partners, and ensure the technical and operational quality of all interventions.
Main responsibilities
Lead provincial strategic planning, including activity plans, acquisitions, monitoring and budgeting;
Coordinate and operationalize all technical activities of the PIN-MISAU/N’weti project in the province;
Manage the N’weti provincial team, promoting synergies with other ongoing health projects;
Coordinate data quality assessments and implement continuous improvement plans;
Provide technical support in the training of provincial trainers, district technicians, M&E officers, supervisors and Multipurpose Health Agents (APSs);
Ensure the preparation of periodic reports and presentation of results to N’weti, DPS and other stakeholders;
Monitor the implementation of work plans, budgets and recommendations, ensuring the quality of the intervention;
Coordinate with DPS, Provincial Health Services and partners, participating in coordination and supervision meetings joint;
Provide ongoing strategic and technical guidance, including supervision, mentoring and capacity building to the team;
Ensure the quality of data collected, recorded and reported.
Ideal candidate profile
We are looking for professionals with solid academic training and practical experience in community nutrition, capable of leading teams and managing complex projects. If you have a passion for public health and evidence-based results, this position is for you.
Mandatory requirements
Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Medicine or Master's in Nutrition and Food Safety. Candidates with a Masters in Public Health and demonstrated experience in community nutrition will also be considered;
Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, implementing and monitoring effective health projects, with a focus on nutrition;
Experience managing projects with social and behavioral change components (nutrition, family planning, gender, sexual and reproductive health) is an advantage;
Solid knowledge of policies and strategies to combat chronic malnutrition, and current evidence in community-based health services;
Proven leadership in achieving objectives and communicating results to partners;
Experience in designing, implementing and communicating quantitative and qualitative data for reporting, learning and research, including financial oversight;
Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with a broad network of partners;
Skills in developing and managing partnerships, especially with health authorities, and in team training;
High ability to write complex, clear and quality reports;
Experience in planning and managing the Monitoring and Evaluation chain;
Fluency in Portuguese and command of the local languages of the province to which you are applying;
Residence in the province or availability to reside.
