SLB is recruiting a Sustainability Intern to work in Maputo, focused on the practical execution of the company’s global sustainability strategy. This is an opportunity for recent graduates who want to gain real experience in data analysis, performance improvement, and implementation of environmental initiatives with business impact.

Role overview

As a Sustainability Intern, you will support SLB’s sustainability journey on a day-to-day basis, helping turn global targets into concrete local actions. The position combines analytical work, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and participation in continuous improvement projects, with direct exposure to indicators, internal processes, and compliance requirements.

Main responsibilities

  • Support the collection, monitoring, and reporting of site-level sustainability data.

  • Track progress against SLB sustainability targets and identify performance improvement opportunities.

  • Participate in implementing sustainability initiatives and internal awareness campaigns.

  • Collaborate with teams from different areas to strengthen alignment with corporate goals.

  • Contribute to the preparation of presentations, dashboards, and reports for internal stakeholders.

  • Support audits, inspections, and sustainability-related compliance activities.

  • Conduct research on trends, technologies, and regulatory developments applicable to SLB operations.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to raise the business’s sustainable performance.

Desired profile and skills

  • Completed (or in-progress) bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, Engineering, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.

  • Recent graduate, with up to 2 years since graduation.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word); knowledge of Power BI is valued.

  • Analytical ability to interpret data and generate useful insights for decision-making.

  • Fast learner, critical thinking, and ability to apply practical solutions in real-world contexts.

  • Strong teamwork, clear communication, and organization.

  • English proficiency.

  • Genuine interest in sustainability, environmental responsibility, and innovation.
