ASMOG opens recruitment for three (3) Field Supervision Interns (SMOG). (SMOG). The internship will last six (6) months, starting on 01 July 2026, under the direct supervision of the ToPP Project Coordinator and the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.

The vacancies are intended to support the expansion of biodiversity conservation and environmental governance activities to new provinces, divided into the following regions of implementation:

  • One (1) vacancy: Based in Monte Mabu (Zambézia Province);

  • One (1) vacancy: Based in Cahora Bassa (Tete Province);

  • One (1) vacancy: Based in Moamba (Province of Maputo).

Project Context and Function Mission

ASMOG, originally based on Ibo Island (Cabo Delgado), works to strengthen sustainable coexistence between communities and nature. Through the project “Together for People and Planet (ToPP)”, financed and promoted by WWF, the association already supports environmental monitoring in six communities in Greater Limpopo and five communities in the Lago Niassa Partial Reserve.

With the expansion to Zambézia and Tete, field interns will have the mission of structuring and monitoring SMOG data collection in the new implementation regions. The objective is to make the system more effective and robust, generating reliable analytical data that supports informed decision-making on the sustainable management of natural resources and the conservation of local biodiversity.

Strategic Areas of Action (ToPP Project)

During the field stage, activities will be directly aligned with the six areas of change defined by the WWF program to empower Civil Society Organizations (CSOs):

  1. Capacity and resilience of local CSOs;

  2. Strengthening and protecting Civic Space;

  3. Transparent environmental governance;

  4. Sustainable Environmental and Climate Transformation;

  5. Transformation and resilience of local economies;

  6. Gender Equality and Social Inclusion in community decisions.

Data and Impact Management: Using Excel to Control Environmental Monitoring Indicators (SMOG)
