Associação Mãos Unidas (AMU) is a Mozambican non-profit organization committed to promoting the health, well-being and sustainable development of communities. Through a people-centered approach, AMU works in close collaboration with communities, civil society organizations and cooperation partners to strengthen access to essential health services, promote social inclusion and contribute to improving the living conditions of the most vulnerable populations.

As part of the implementation of the okukula project to strengthen community health services, financed by (The Global Fund), Associação Mãos Unidas intends to recruit qualified, dynamic and committed professionals to join its technical and operational team. The project aims to support national efforts to prevent, control and respond to HIV, Tuberculosis and Malaria, through community mobilization, health education, promoting demand for health services, data collection and strengthening community participation.

AMU seeks candidates with a high sense of responsibility, team spirit, ability to work in multicultural environments and a strong commitment to community development, to actively contribute to the implementation of interventions that promote positive and sustainable changes in beneficiary communities, in the province of Zambézia district of Alto Molocué, Mocuba and Gurué.

In this context, the following vacancies are open:

1. Field technicians (21 vacancies)

Main functions:

  • Conduct awareness-raising lectures, community mobilization and health education focused on prevention, symptoms and demystification of HIV, Tuberculosis and Malaria;

  • Carry out home visits to monitor patients and provide advice on the importance of retention and strict adherence to treatment (ART and preventive measures);

  • Ensure the distribution and monitoring of the correct use of prevention materials in the field, such as Impregnated Mosquito Nets (REMI) and informative material;

  • Carry out active community search actions for those who default and abandon HIV and Tuberculosis treatment, promoting their commitment and return to Health Units;

  • Identify and refer suspected cases in the community (such as individuals with a prolonged cough for screening for Tuberculosis or fever for Malaria) to the reference health services.

  • Work in close coordination with the Health Advisors, Activists and Medical Technicians of the Health Units to ensure the continuous flow of information and the correct follow-up of patients;

  • Accurately complete community follow-up forms, log books and digital data collection tools data;

  • Report community impact indicators weekly (number of people sensitized, suspects referred, and offenders recovered) to the field coordination.

2. Application requirements

Documentation
  • Copy of ID;

  • Curriculum vitae;

  • Motivation letter;

  • Copy of certificate, minimum 12th class or equivalent;

  • Motorbike license, minimum category A1 (indispensable);

  • Have at least 2 years of experience in field work (Desirable);

  • Have residence in the location of the vacancy;

  • Submit at least 2 letters of reference/work certificate in the field work area (Desirable).
