What the role involves

As a Communications Assistant, you will be key player in the Communication and Visibility team at IOM Mozambique, reporting to the Head of the Program Support Unit. Your responsibilities include:

  • Collect and organize content from media and social networks (LinkedIn, Instagram, following templates and guidelines.

  • Assist program teams in formatting visibility materials according to donor guidelines.

  • Receive and route media and communication requests to appropriate focal points.

  • Monitor and record references to IOM in local and international press, compiling summaries for internal use.

  • Support the maintenance of communication channels internal, sharing updates and announcements.

  • Respond to general requests for information and maintain organized files and records.

What profile makes sense

We are looking for professionals with:

  • Education: High school diploma + 3 years of relevant experience, OR degree in Journalism, Communication, Social Sciences, International Relations, Migration Studies or other fields related + 1 year of experience.

  • Experience: Proven in communication, project management support, reporting or monitoring. Experience in organizing trainings, working with migrants or in the private sector is an advantage.

  • Technical skills: In-depth knowledge of communication, UN and bilateral donor programming; ability to write clearly and articulately in Portuguese and English.

  • Languages: Mandatory fluency in Portuguese and English (oral and written).
