CDM – Cervejas de Moçambique is recruiting a Distribution Controller (m/f) for its warehouse in Marracuene. What the role involves
As a Distribution Controller, you will be responsible for managing distribution performance and all related activities, from strategic planning through to implementation on the ground. The objective is to overcome delivery challenges, meet customer requirements and ensure optimal utilization of the company's resources.
Main responsibilities
Lead the implementation of DPO (Distribution Process Optimization) in the department
Negotiate costs with contractors to obtain the best economic price
Review machine and personnel resources of the department
Manage self and team development and performance
Prepare a strategic plan for the fiscal year, with insights for the Warehouse Business Plan
Review master data, business descriptions, process mapping, service level management and routing
Plan and define planning SLAs, including high volume
Develop annual department budget (fixed and variable) and manage costs throughout the year
Set and cascade team and individual goals
Develop peak sizing and planning for all critical periods
Manage customer and driver master data
Conduct semi-annual customer service reviews and analyze feedback with actions
Plan and manage sales visits and ensure compliance
Manage the full beer return process
Monitor safety and reinforce critical behaviors
Manage 3PL contractors and drive performance improvement
Manage supply chain transfers and ensure adherence to plan
Review all SLAs and participate in meetings to address non-compliances with all stakeholders
Lead weekly performance meetings, addressing trends from the previous week and proposing sustainable plans
Address beer age issues with the sales team through action plans
Prepare and analyze payments to contractors
Manage departmental costs to meet the budget
Develop the business plan aligned with the Sales and Distribution strategy
Ensure that the distribution team's objectives support the warehouse's business plan
Calculate the size and mix of the delivery fleet to optimize costs and customer service effectiveness
Optimize fleet utilization through the effective use of own vs. private transport. contracted and route planning
Maintain contingency plans for replacement of contracted vehicles and drivers
Ensure that the fleet and drivers consistently meet legal requirements
Maintain the fleet
Interpret and implement delivery schedules
Ensure product quality
Analyze and respond to company performance measures distribution
Translate business strategies
Ensure optimal asset utilization
Manage key areas of distribution performance

Minimum requirements
Degree/Bachelor's degree/HND in a related field (Logistics, Management, Engineering or similar)
Minimum of 5 years' experience in logistics and supply chain management
Computer knowledge from a business perspective user
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
