ASMOG opens recruitment for a Humanitarian Security Consultant (Pemba)

ASMOG (Solidarity Association of Mozambique), a community-based non-profit organization originating from Ibo Island and with a strong presence in the areas of conservation, development and emergency response, announced the opening of the selection process for the hiring of a Humanitarian Security Consultant. The position will be based in the City of Pemba, province of Cabo Delgado, with an initial contract expected to last three (3) months and scheduled to begin on July 1, 2026.

This consultant will play a critical role in protecting field teams and continuing the association's humanitarian operations in districts of high operational complexity, such as Chiúre, Ancuabe, Nangade, Muidumbe, Mueda, Palma and Mocímboa da Praia. Hiring Objectives and Responsibilities

The Humanitarian Security Consultant will report directly to the General Coordinator of ASMOG, with the following strategic duties:

• Geopolitical and Social Risk Analysis: Provide specialized consultancy in the assessment and mapping of risks in humanitarian crisis scenarios (armed conflicts, public instability and natural disasters such as floods and droughts).

• Protection and Safeguards: Design and implement guidelines for mitigating social risks, integrating the concepts of protection and safeguards in occupational safety for technical personnel, logistical resources and services of the institution.

• Safety of Field Teams: Ensure the operational shielding of the teams that work in the distribution of humanitarian assistance in the priority districts of central and northern Cabo Delgado.

Candidate Profile and Expected Requirements

• Professional Qualifications: Solid background academic or professional in the areas of Risk Management, International Relations, Social Sciences, Operational Security or areas related to the humanitarian context.

• Proven Experience: Practical experience in security consultancy or operational management in crisis scenarios, armed conflict or response to natural disasters in Mozambique.

• Critical Skills: Strong analytical skills analysis, reading of scenarios of public instability, gender sensitivity and in-depth knowledge of the social and geographic panorama of the province of Cabo Delgado.

• Ethical Principles: Strict alignment with policies of equal opportunities, non-discrimination and safeguarding vulnerable populations.
