The role focuses on the operational coordination of the School Mentoring Program, leading teams in the field and strengthening bridges between the organization, schools and local communities.

Main Responsibilities of the Role

The Project Officer will be the operational engine of the project, assuming responsibilities divided into four strategic pillars:

1. Operational Execution and Field Supervision

• Coordinate the implementation of the School Mentoring Program in partner schools, ensuring strict compliance with schedules, goals and work plans.

• Supervise, guide and technically train the team of facilitators and mentors in the field, promoting a collaborative environment focused on ethical results.

• Identify operational bottlenecks on a daily basis and design agile and adaptive solutions to ensure that no activity suffers deviations.

2. Community and Institutional Coordination

• Establish solid cooperative relationships with school management, teachers, school councils and community leaders to foster local engagement.

• Coordinate the program's actions with district education authorities and manage alignment with the teams of the two Girl MOVE implementation partners.

3. Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting (MEAL)

• Carry out regular monitoring visits to schools to audit the quality of activities and collect accurate programmatic data.

• Feed the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) systems, generating solid evidence on the impacts generated.

• Produce narrative progress reports, documenting lessons learned, good practices and success stories of girls supported.

Candidate Profile and Admission Requirements

• Academic Background: Degree in Education, Social Sciences, Project Management, Psychology, Community Development, Public Administration or related areas. Postgraduate degree or certifications in Project Management will be considered an advantage.

• Minimum Experience: At least 3 years of experience in coordinating and implementing social projects, ideally focused on education, gender, youth, school retention or adolescent empowerment.

• Leadership Skills: Proven track record in supervising field teams, activists, mentors or community mobilizers, preferably in rural contexts.

• Technical Skills: Good data management skills, writing analytical reports and intermediate command of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Languages: Fluency in Portuguese. Proficiency in local languages in Mozambique will be an important advantage.

• Availability: Total flexibility to travel frequently and work in different provinces of the country.
