Truck Driver Job Opening

Servtec is recruiting, on behalf of its client, a Truck Driver for Maputo. This role is suited to professionals with experience operating heavy vehicles and a strong focus on safe, on-time, and well-executed deliveries. The main objective is to ensure products are distributed to customers and points of sale, with close attention to cargo integrity, adherence to assigned routes, and service quality at every delivery.

Role overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving trucks for goods distribution, ensuring the entire transport process is carried out safely, efficiently, and with the required documentation in order. In addition to driving, the role requires care in handling products, strict attention to road safety standards, and a professional approach when dealing with customers.

Key responsibilities

• Drive trucks to distribute products to customers and points of sale.

• Ensure goods are loaded and unloaded correctly.

• Check transport documentation, including delivery notes, invoices, and other applicable documents.

• Ensure products are kept in good condition throughout transport.

• Follow assigned routes and delivery schedules.

• Take care of basic vehicle maintenance and cleanliness.

• Report incidents, breakdowns, or any irregularities identified during service.

• Strictly comply with road safety regulations and the company's internal policies.

• Provide courteous and professional customer service during deliveries.

Profile and requirements

• Minimum education level: Grade 10 or equivalent.

• Valid professional driving licence for heavy vehicles, category C1E or above.

• Proven experience as a truck driver.

• Experience driving trucks with double trailers.

• Knowledge of local routes and defensive driving best practices.

• Physical ability to carry out loading and unloading activities.

• Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and organisation.

• Good communication skills and a professional manner.
