Kukinga-CD Association is recruiting 20 Community Facilitators to support the expansion of its activities in Cabo Delgado. This volunteer opportunity is aimed at people with strong community ties, an interest in social work, and availability to work in child protection, prevention and response to Gender-Based Violence (GBV), psychosocial support, and the promotion of community well-being.

About the opportunity

The nonprofit organization, based in Metuge district, runs community interventions focused on children, adolescents, and families. Selected volunteers will strengthen grassroots outreach in implementation areas, contributing to awareness-raising activities, community follow-up, and support for protection and inclusion initiatives.

What the role involves

  • Working directly with communities in the districts of Metuge, Chiúre, Pemba, and nearby areas.

  • Supporting activities related to child protection and community well-being.

  • Taking part in GBV prevention and response initiatives.

  • Collaborating with local teams and structures on psychosocial support initiatives.

Candidate profile

  • Minimum education level equivalent to Grade 10 in the National Education System.

  • Residence in the implementation area, namely Metuge, Chiúre, Pemba, or surrounding areas.

  • Strong communication skills, a sense of responsibility, and the ability to work well with others.

  • Genuine interest in community and social work.

  • Previous experience working with children and adolescents.

  • Knowledge of or experience in GBV and basic Psychosocial Support (PSS).

  • Familiarity with Child-Friendly Spaces (CFS) and/or Safe Spaces for Girls will be an advantage.

  • Fluency in local languages such as Makua, Shimakonde, and Kimwani.
