What the role involves
As an Accountant at Dondo, you will be responsible for ensuring the financial integrity of FH projects. This includes the preparation of year-end financial statements and periodic reports (monthly, quarterly and annual), with details on funding received, expenses, balances and budget execution. You will also have to carry out monthly bank reconciliations and account reconciliations, with strict control of advances for travel, seminars and other authorized purposes.
In addition, you will review financing requests before payments, checking the budget framework, budget coverage, manager approvals and compliance with procurement procedures (including obtaining at least three quotes for expenses equal to or greater than 10,000.00 MT). It also classifies and records expenses, reclassifies when necessary and organizes financial processes for review by senior management, such as those related to the mosquito net distribution campaign.

Which profile makes sense
FH is looking for someone with a degree in Accounting, Accounting and Auditing, Business Administration (specialization in Accounting) or Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting), obtained from a recognized institution. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position in an international NGO is required. Professional qualifications such as CA, CPA or ACCA are an advantage.
Valued skills: strategic mindset with the ability to lead and inspire; in-depth knowledge of international accounting principles and financial management; excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with different stakeholders; strong analytical capabilities to handle large financial data extracts and produce reports with recommendations; proficiency in integrated accounting systems and Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); and ability to guide, mentor and delegate. FH also expects high ethical standards, integrity and discretion, in line with the zero tolerance policy against sexual exploitation and abuse.
