Mission and Impact of the Role

The Branch Operations Officer is the critical link between headquarters and branches, ensuring that the bank's operational machinery functions accurately and efficiently. Its main mission is to provide permanent and immediate assistance, focusing on continuous improvement of processes, resolving day-to-day difficulties and ensuring full compliance with policies and procedures. This role ultimately aims to drastically increase quality and reduce Average Service Time (TAT), providing a superior and memorable banking experience for every customer who enters an Absa branch.

Main Responsibilities

Your contribution will be vast and multifaceted, ranging from maintaining operational documentation to leading transformation projects. Your main tasks will include:

• Operational Maintenance and Update: Ensure periodic review and updating of the Operations Manual, issuing Circulars and Communications that align processes with current Policies and Standards.
• Process Optimization: Evaluate agencies' current operational processes, designing and proposing concrete plans for their improvement and simplification.
• Management of Regulatory and Legal Correspondence: Forward, via Compliance and Legal Services, communications received from the Bank of Mozambique (BdM) and the Courts to the agencies, monitoring their resolution within the stipulated deadlines.
• Implementation of Recommendations: Instruct and monitor the implementation of recommendations contained in Audit and Forensic Reports, ensuring the regularization of pending issues within the established deadlines.
• Project Management: Lead process reengineering projects and actively participate in other initiatives linked to agency operations.
• Infrastructure Optimization: Propose and monitor the execution of optimization and rehabilitation projects for agencies under the BOP Program (Branch Optimization Program) and/or minor repairs.
• Complaint Management and SLA: Monitor the complaint resolution process, ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLA) with agencies.
• Governance and Compliance: Understand, update and apply governance procedures and compliance rules relevant to agency activities, proposing solutions for outstanding and escalating situations.
• Operational Administrative Management: Design, align and approve the agencies' Operational Mandates.

Education and Training

It is mandatory to have a National Diploma or Advanced Certificate in the area of ​​Business Studies, Commerce and Management or directly related areas. This training provides the fundamental knowledge necessary to understand the complexity of banking and management processes.
