Ayuda en Acción Foundation is seeking a Community Facilitator to support community mobilization and the implementation of activities under Result 3 of the XaLissima III Project. The role focuses on promoting fish as part of a healthy diet, supporting women engaged in income-generating activities, and raising awareness around nutrition and food security. We are looking for someone with a genuine connection to the target communities, strong communication skills, and availability for close, field-based community work.

About the organization and the role

Ayuda en Acción is an international organization that has been working since 1981 to fight poverty, inequality, and social exclusion. It is a non-denominational, non-partisan organization guided by Human Rights and a commitment to social justice.

In this position, the professional will play a hands-on role in daily contact with communities, supporting awareness-raising activities, training, and local follow-up, as well as coordination between beneficiaries and the project team.

Key responsibilities

  • Mobilize community members to take part in project activities.

  • Support the organization of community meetings, awareness sessions, and training activities.

  • Work closely with women’s associations and fish traders.

  • Support sessions on nutrition, food education, and fish consumption in both communities and schools.

  • Share messages related to the value of fish and food security.

  • Facilitate communication between communities and the project team.

  • Identify challenges, local needs, and constraints, and communicate them clearly to the technical team.

  • Monitor the implementation of project activities in the target communities.

Profile and requirements

  • Completed National Secondary Education.

  • Residence in the project communities or districts of intervention.

  • Interest in community work and local development.

  • Strong communication skills with different stakeholders in the community.

  • Availability to participate actively in project activities.

  • Knowledge of local languages.

  • Preferred age between 18 and 35 years.

Essential languages: Portuguese at a professional level and Changana/Ronga at a native level.

Offer conditions

  • Start date: May 04, 2026

  • Contract type: Service Contract

  • Compensation: 7.000,00 MT (seven thousand meticais)

  • Work location: Mahanhane and Corumana

  • Mobility: travel to the Maputo office around 10% of the time
