Talentia SA is recruiting a Compliance Officer for Maputo. This is an opportunity for experienced professionals who want to take on a central role in preventing legal, operational, and reputational risks, ensuring compliance with applicable standards while helping strengthen an internal culture of ethics, integrity, and control.
What this role involves
On a day-to-day basis, the Compliance Officer will be responsible for ensuring the company’s processes comply with legislation, sector regulations, and internal policies. The role goes beyond simply checking rules—it involves identifying vulnerabilities, supporting safer decision-making, and contributing to a culture of responsible conduct.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations;
Monitor and assess compliance risks across the company’s processes;
Implement and oversee compliance programs and internal control mechanisms;
Support anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing measures (AML/CFT);
Prepare reports, flag non-compliance issues, and follow up on corrective actions;
Provide support for internal and external audits;
Deliver training and awareness initiatives to strengthen the compliance culture;
Track legislative changes and support their practical implementation within the organization;
Ensure compliance with KYC (Know Your Customer) procedures;
Collaborate in the review and continuous improvement of internal policies and procedures.

Experience in the financial or insurance sector will be considered an asset, as will knowledge of sector-specific legislation and familiarity with AML/CFT.
Good user-level IT skills, especially in MS Office, will also be important, along with a professional profile defined by ethics, rigor, analytical ability, and a strong sense of responsibility. Critical thinking, autonomy, organization, strong communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure will all be important for success in the role.
