DP World is hiring a Crane Electrical Technician for an on-site role in Maputo, focused on the electrical maintenance of cranes and related equipment. This is an opportunity for professionals with experience in port environments or heavy equipment, with a strong focus on safety, fault diagnosis, and readiness to respond to breakdowns in the field.
What this role involves
On a day-to-day basis, the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective electrical maintenance on cranes, identifying faults, monitoring equipment performance, and supporting operational continuity. The role requires independence in field interventions, including emergency callouts and immediate response to breakdowns reported by the planning team.
Carry out electrical maintenance and fault diagnosis on cranes and related equipment.
Ensure maximum operational availability through effective repair methods.
Record inspections, monitoring activities, and interventions accurately and up to date in work orders.
Report breakdowns, faults, and emergency work to the supervisor.
Ensure all preventive electrical maintenance is completed in line with the system requirements and established deadlines.
Keep the workshop and team-managed equipment in good order and clean condition.

This role is well suited to candidates with 2 to 3 years of required experience in a container port environment and/or with heavy equipment. The minimum academic requirement is Grade 12 education with specialization in mechanical systems, while a diploma in electrical engineering is considered an advantage.
Experience in ports, mining, steel production, or heavy equipment operations.
Hands-on knowledge of electrical systems, diesel engines, transmissions, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, brakes, and technical documentation.
Ability to work at height and familiarity with lifting chains and cables.
Strong command of occupational health and safety procedures and standards.
