AFRIN PRESTIGE HOTEL, LDA. is hiring a Deputy Director for Maputo, with responsibility for the overall coordination of hotel operations, service quality, and the unit’s financial performance. This opportunity is best suited to senior hospitality professionals with solid operational management experience and the ability to oversee different areas of the business with practical judgment, rigor, and a strong sense of responsibility.
What the role involves
The Deputy Director will play a central role in the day-to-day oversight of operations, ensuring that the various departments work in a coordinated way and in line with the hotel’s standards. The role requires close involvement with operations, strong decision-making ability, and constant attention to the guest experience.
Manage and coordinate Housekeeping, Accommodation, Finance, Maintenance, and Front Office;
Prepare and monitor monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets, with a focus on business profitability;
Coordinate with stores and procurement on matters related to purchasing, food, materials, and events;
Ensure that Finance, Maintenance, and Front Office activities are carried out on time;
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards;
Prepare, monitor, and analyse operational and financial reports;
Define and implement continuous improvement measures.

Candidate profile
The company is looking for a professional with a well-established track record in leadership roles within the hospitality sector. Strong experience in team leadership, operational supervision, and performance management in a hotel environment will be highly valued.
Age between 40 and 55 years;
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in leadership roles within the hospitality sector;
Strong knowledge of both the financial and operational sides of hospitality management;
Leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills;
Good communication skills and ease in professional relationships;
Fluency in Portuguese and English; other languages will be an advantage;
Availability for a 2-year contract.
Familiarity with the Asian market, including a Nepali background profile, may be considered an asset in the selection process.
