CONTACT is recruiting an Electrical Technician (m/f) for the city of Beira to join the operations of a terminal dedicated to fuel storage and handling. This is a technical role with direct impact on operational continuity, facility safety, and the reliable performance of critical electrical systems.

What this role involves

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of the terminal’s electrical systems. This includes lighting, distribution boards, generators, pumps, control systems, automation, and electrical instrumentation.

  • Diagnose electrical faults and carry out repairs quickly to minimise downtime of essential equipment.

  • Test and inspect circuits and components, including voltage, current, and resistance measurements.

  • Install and configure new electrical equipment and automation systems in line with project specifications and operational needs.

  • Support the installation of electrical infrastructure such as cabling, transformers, and distribution boards.

  • Record maintenance interventions and prepare reports to support internal and external audits.

The profile that fits this opportunity

The company is looking for a technician with solid training and hands-on experience in industrial electrical maintenance, ideally in demanding environments such as fuel terminals, refineries, or similar sectors.

  • Technical training in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanics, or related fields.

  • At least 2 years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance.

  • Knowledge of high- and low-voltage systems, generators, transformers, automation, and electrical control systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and installation drawings.

  • Proficiency with measurement equipment such as multimeters, ammeters, and voltmeters.

  • Familiarity with PLCs, DCS, variable frequency drives, and terminal instrumentation, including level, pressure, and flow meters, weighbridges, ATG, and Accuload.

  • Ability to solve technical problems quickly while maintaining a strong focus on safety, reliability, and teamwork.

  • Mozambican nationality.
