Food for the Hungry (FH Association) is seeking to recruit 1 Field Officer for Maringué, Sofala Province. Role overview

The Field Officer will play a central role in implementing and monitoring field activities, working closely with communities, local structures, and district health partners. The position requires the ability to mobilize people, support training processes, monitor activity delivery, and contribute to the quality of project data, with a particular focus on promoting malaria prevention measures.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure the delivery of community dialogues moderated by previously trained facilitators.

  • Conduct field supervision and training visits.

  • Ensure the training of community health structures in the district whenever needed.

  • Mobilize communities to adopt malaria prevention measures.

  • Support data flow across the different components, in line with the project’s defined information standards.

  • Ensure the quality of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

  • Conduct joint supervision visits with district-level health partners, in line with the established plan.

  • Monitor activities involving teachers, health facility heads, community dialogue facilitators, and community structures.

  • Ensure compliance with fund utilization rules, in accordance with the sub-award agreement and internal procedures.

  • Carry out small-scale procurements in coordination with the procurement department.

Desired profile

  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a genuine Christian commitment to serving those most in need, and alignment with the Christian principles upheld by FH.

  • Knowledge of social mobilization techniques for behavior change.

  • Experience or skills in training health volunteers and teachers.

  • Strong communication skills in local languages.

  • Willingness to reside in the district.

  • Understanding of how non-governmental organizations operate will be considered an advantage.
