About the Role

TheHealth Technicianwill be responsible for ensuring emergency medical response and continuous clinical support in highly complex industrial operations, including platforms and facilities within theOil and Gassector. The role demands not only outstanding technical competence, but also the ability to make rapid decisions, remain composed under pressure, and maintain an impeccable professional standard.

Working on a rotational basis inPembaand in remote locations associated with operations, the selected professional will serve as the first point of response in medical emergency situations, acting with technical autonomy and in close coordination with multidisciplinary safety and operations teams.

This role is set within a context ofOccupational Healthat the highest level, where prevention, rapid response, and rigorous documentation are fundamental pillars of expected performance.

Key Responsibilities

Emergency Response and Clinical Care

  • Provide immediate emergency medical care in situations involving trauma, cardiorespiratory arrest, poisoning, and other critical workplace incidents.
  • Apply advanced life support protocols —BLS,ACLSandPHTLS/ITLS— with technical precision and swift execution.
  • Manage and operate emergency medical equipment, ensuring its ongoing maintenance, calibration, and operational readiness at all times.
  • Coordinate medical evacuations (MEDEVAC) and liaise with referral hospital services as needed.
  • Conduct effective triage in mass casualty scenarios, prioritizing care based on established clinical criteria.

Occupational Health and Prevention

  • Conduct periodic health assessments for workers, including fitness-for-duty evaluations for those operating in high-risk environments.
  • Implement and monitor epidemiological surveillance and occupational health programs tailored to the industrial context.
  • Proactively identify workplace health hazards and propose corrective and preventive measures in collaboration with HSE teams.
  • Deliver first aid training and health and safety awareness sessions to employees and operational teams.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable national and international health and safety regulations within the sector.

Documentation, Reporting, and Communication

  • Prepare detailed and thorough medical reports on incidents, treatments provided, and patients' clinical progress.
  • Maintain up-to-date, confidential clinical records in full compliance with required regulatory standards.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with operations managers, security teams, and external health authorities.
  • Actively participate in safety meetings, operational briefings, and emergency procedure reviews.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Academic Background and Certifications

AMedilink International Moçambiqueis seeking professionals with a strong academic background in healthcare and advanced, rigorously up-to-date technical certifications. The minimum requirements are:

  • Diploma in Nursing, Medicine, or Paramedicine, recognized by the competent authorities in Mozambique.
  • Valid and current certification inBLS — Basic Life Support.
  • Valid and current certification inACLS — Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.
  • Valid and current certification inPHTLS — Pre-Hospital Trauma Life SupportorITLS — International Trauma Life Support.
  • Valid and active professional registrationwith the health authorities of Mozambique.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of5 years of proven experiencein emergency medical services or pre-hospital care.
  • Prior experience inOccupational Healthwill be strongly valued and considered a differentiating factor.
  • Work experience inremote locationsor in theOil and Gas industrywill represent a significant competitive advantage in the selection process.
  • Proven track record of operating in high-risk environments, with the ability to maintain composure and technical effectiveness under extreme pressure.

Technical and Transferable Skills

  • Fluency in Portuguese and English— both spoken and written — is mandatory, given the multicultural and international work environment.
  • Proficiency inMicrosoft Office(Word, Excel, Outlook) and demonstrated ability to produce technical and clinical reports.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, leadership in crisis situations, and effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
  • High sense of responsibility, professional ethics, and discretion in handling sensitive clinical information.
  • Full and confirmed availability to work on arotation schedule, including periods in remote locations away from your usual place of residence.
