Estaleiro Naval Moçambique, LDA is recruiting Carpenters to join its operations in Maputo. This is an opportunity for professionals with relevant training and hands-on experience in marine or industrial carpentry, able to manufacture, assemble, and repair wooden components with technical precision, a strong focus on safety, and close attention to finish quality.

Role overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out carpentry work in a marine setting, ensuring that all components meet project requirements and working closely with other shipyard teams to deliver on time and to quality standards.
Location: on-site, in Maputo

Required experience: 2 to 3 years
Key responsibilities
Manufacture, assemble, and repair wooden structures and components using marine and industrial carpentry techniques.
Interpret technical drawings, plans, and work instructions to produce parts in line with project specifications.
Use manual and power carpentry tools, including saws, planers, sanders, and drills, with precision in cutting and finishing.
Install and adjust furniture, panels, flooring, linings, and other wooden elements on vessels.
Select and prepare the most suitable materials, taking into account strength, durability, and intended use.
Ensure both aesthetic and functional quality in structures and finishes, with attention to detail at every stage of the job.
Maintain tools and machinery in good condition through regular checks and preventive maintenance.
Follow and reinforce workplace safety standards, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Keep the workstation organised, clean, and safe throughout operations.
Work closely with metalworkers, welders, and other shipyard professionals to support production efficiency.
Candidate profile
Completed secondary education.
Training in Marine Carpentry or Industrial Carpentry.
2 to 3 years of professional experience in the role.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Practical knowledge of wood assembly, repair, and finishing.
Strong sense of responsibility, organisation, and compliance with safety procedures.
Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team and stay focused on deadlines.
