AVSI is recruiting 1 Logistics Officer to support the operational coordination of projects in Nampula, with field activity in Eráti. This role is well suited to professionals with experience in logistics, procurement, and operational support who can ensure compliance with internal procedures and donor requirements while keeping field activities running smoothly.
Role overview
The Logistics Officer will play a central role in organizing the logistical and administrative processes of the projects, with a focus on procurement, fleet management, stock control, support for works, and assistance to implementation teams. The position requires strong document control, planning skills, and availability to follow field activities whenever needed.
Key responsibilities
Prepare and implement procurement processes, including terms of reference, tender documentation, bid analysis, contracts, payments, and deliveries, in line with the Operations Manual, AMPE 18, AMPE 19, and donor rules.
Manage bookings, accommodation, and travel logistics support for the team.
Oversee AVSI fleet management, including maintenance, insurance, administrative records, logbooks, and vehicle movement scheduling.
Support project implementation in the field by taking part in field activities and ensuring logistics support for teams.
Support the Administration and Finance team with orders, receipt and dispatch of materials, airline tickets, and mail distribution.
Update the inventory, track electronic equipment, and ensure adequate stock levels of materials and consumables.
Manage the warehouse, including inbound and outbound records, and organize the logistics archive.
Support the preparation, supervision, and filing of documentation related to construction and rehabilitation works, as well as liaising with contractors, supervisors, and local authorities.
Profile requirements
Bachelor's degree or postgraduate qualification in Logistics, Management, or a relevant field.
Valid driver's license.
Knowledge of Dynamics 365 Business Central and Navision.
Basic to intermediate spoken and written English.
Experience with procurement rules of international donors such as the World Bank, UNICEF, the European Union, AICS, USAID, WFP, and ENI.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to work independently, with a strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and commitment to deadlines.
Willingness to travel regularly to the field and to work occasionally irregular hours.
Alignment with AVSI's methodological principles and values.
