We are recruiting a Logistics Operator to support the day-to-day coordination of transport operations and sample movements in Inhambane. This role is suited to professionals with experience in operations and logistics, strong attention to detail, and the availability to oversee collections, deliveries, documentation, and urgent operational issues with accuracy and a strong sense of responsibility.

Role overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient operations, from transport planning and monitoring through to delivery confirmation. The focus is on strong operational execution, document control, sample tracking, and compliance with internal safety, ethics, and conduct standards.

This is an on-site position requiring schedule flexibility, including weekends and responsiveness to occasional operational emergencies.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor transport schedules and track the progress of operations.

  • Coordinate sample collection and delivery activities with carriers and other stakeholders.

  • Ensure accurate updates of documentation and system records.

  • Manage Proof of Delivery (POD) processes, ensuring proper delivery confirmation.

  • Oversee sample tracking and movement throughout the logistics process.

  • Collect, organize, and consolidate operational data for performance indicators and process evaluation.

  • Communicate emergency situations whenever necessary, quickly and clearly.

  • Ensure compliance with AGL best practices, including safety, ethics, and professional conduct standards.

Candidate profile

  • Secondary school education.

  • At least 2 years of proven experience in operations or logistics.

  • Good computer skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet use.

  • Ability to prepare clear and accurate reports.

  • Proactive, agile, collaborative, and goal-oriented profile.

  • Strong sense of responsibility, professional presentation, and the ability to work well in a team.

  • Availability for flexible schedules, including weekends, and to work in emergency situations.

  • Residence in the province of application will be considered an advantage.

Languages and job context

Bilingual-level Portuguese is required, along with basic knowledge of English. The position is based in Inhambane, on-site, within the Freight Forwarding / Contract Logistics area, with a contractual arrangement as prestataire.
