Save the Children International (SCI) is recruiting a Project/Consortium Manager to support the delivery of humanitarian programmes in Chiúre, Cabo Delgado, and Erati, Nampula. This role is central to implementing two integrated projects across Education in Emergencies, Child Protection, and Food Security and Livelihoods, working closely with local and international partners, authorities, and communities.

What this role involves

The selected candidate will be responsible for project planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting, ensuring technical quality, strong coordination across partners, and alignment with consortium objectives. The position also contributes to programme strengthening and external representation with sector working groups, government entities, donors, and other stakeholders.

  • Manage the delivery of multi-sector humanitarian projects.

  • Coordinate activities with consortium partner organisations.

  • Track results, timelines, budgets, and reporting.

  • Coordinate interventions across Education in Emergencies, Child Protection, FSL, DRR, and WASH.

  • Represent the programme in technical forums and external coordination spaces.

The profile best suited to this role

Save the Children is looking for someone with higher education in Development Studies, International Relations, Social Sciences, Agronomy, Civil Engineering, or related fields, with at least a bachelor’s degree; a master’s degree is preferred. Strong experience managing integrated humanitarian programmes is essential, especially in Education in Emergencies, Protection, and/or Livelihoods.

  • At least 7 years of proven experience managing multi-sector humanitarian programmes.

  • Experience in planning, budget management, and team leadership.

  • Hands-on experience managing consortia with local and international partners and donors.

  • Fluency in Portuguese and good command of English.

  • Ability to supervise, train, and support field teams.

  • Experience in external representation, including cluster coordination or similar forums.

  • Political and cultural sensitivity, with a balanced and professional approach.

Experience in DRR, WASH, disability inclusion, and previous work in Cabo Delgado will be considered an advantage. Availability to live in Chiúre district is also required.
