Save the Children International (SCI), a non-profit humanitarian organization focused on child well-being, is recruiting one (1) Partnerships Officer based in: Nampula.

Purpose of the Role

The Officer will work closely with the Awards, Finance, Program Operations teams, and national partners to ensure that accurate and timely information is available for decision-making and for meeting donor requirements. In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the post holder is expected to work outside the normal scope of the role and be able to adjust working hours as necessary.

The Awards and Partnerships Officer supports the Partnerships Manager (PM) to ensure that Save the Children’s Office in Mozambique complies with the Essential Partnership Management Standards, while also playing a key role in developing and strengthening Save the Children Mozambique’s partnership ecosystem.

Under the supervision of the Partnerships Manager, the Partnerships Officer will contribute to strengthening Save the Children Mozambique’s capacity to implement impactful partnerships aligned with Save the Children’s Partnership Principles, the Global Partnership Framework, and the priorities of funding members and donors.

The role will mainly support the maintenance of award records, compliance monitoring, support for preparing financial and narrative reports, and strengthening the operational functions of partner organizations.

Qualifications

  • Higher education degree in Management, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field.

Essential

  • At least 2 years of proven experience in partnership management and/or funding/awards management in a national or international organization, including experience in emergencies.

  • Excellent planning and coordination skills, with the ability to organize a demanding workload consisting of diverse and challenging tasks and responsibilities.

  • Proven track record of actively contributing to the regional office management team and supporting various sectors and/or program offices.

  • Knowledge of the requirements of major institutional donors, including budgeting, eligibility issues, compliance management, and reporting.

  • Understanding of the financial aspects of funding management and understanding of operations and programming.

  • Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer, financial systems).

  • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to build relationships quickly with a wide variety of teams.

  • Patient, adaptable, and able to communicate clearly and effectively under pressure.

Desirable

  • Experience with grant management policies, procedures, and systems, as well as Save the Children’s grant management system (AMS).

  • Experience with effective partnership management policies, procedures, and systems, as well as Save the Children’s partner management process.

  • Understanding of financial reports from Save the Children’s accounting software (Agresso).

  • Understanding of the PRIME system and other SCI systems.
