Openings for (01) Bakery Counter Assistant and (01) Baker’s Assistant

We are hiring for two on-site roles in Maputo: Baker’s Assistant and Bakery Counter Assistant. We are looking for responsible, punctual people who are eager to learn and join a team focused on product quality, great customer service, and day-to-day bakery organization.

Available positions

1. Baker’s Assistant
A role focused on directly supporting the production of bread, cakes, and other bakery items, with involvement in preparation routines, workspace organization, and hygiene.

• Assist with preparing dough for bread, cakes, and other products

• Support shaping and organizing daily production

• Operate basic bakery equipment

• Keep the work area clean and organized

• Follow hygiene and food safety standards

2. Bakery Counter Assistant
A customer-facing role that supports store operations, ensuring products are attractively displayed and customers receive attentive service at the counter.

• Serve customers courteously and attentively

• Serve bread, cakes, and other bakery products

• Organize, display, and restock products in the showcase

• Package products properly

• Support cleaning and organizing the space

• Operate the cash register when needed

Candidate profile

For the Baker’s Assistant role, basic bakery experience is valued, although it is not required. It is important to be available to work early morning shifts, work well in a team, and have a strong sense of responsibility. A minimum education level of 10th grade is required.

For the Bakery Counter Assistant role, previous customer service experience is preferred. We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, a friendly manner, a neat appearance, punctuality, and availability to work shifts. A minimum education level of 10th grade is also required.
