Helen Keller International (HKI) is recruiting an Operations Intern to support the Operations team in Beira. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in administrative processes, procurement, logistics, and compliance, while contributing directly to the efficient delivery of the organization’s activities in Mozambique.
About the role
The selected candidate will work under the supervision of the Operations Assistant, supporting the day-to-day operational routines that underpin program implementation. The role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to handle documentation, suppliers, and internal procedures with accuracy and professionalism.
Key responsibilities
Support the creation of Purchase Requisitions (PRs) in the KProcure system or an equivalent platform.
Request, compile, and compare supplier quotations, preparing bid analyses and Purchase Orders (POs) in line with organizational policies.
Keep procurement files and records up to date, in both physical and electronic formats.
Follow up with suppliers on the delivery of goods and services.
Support the management of vehicle logbooks, ensuring they are completed correctly and fully for each trip.
Assist with the system for monitoring and controlling fuel consumption.
Contribute to compliance with Helen Keller Intl internal procedures, donor requirements, and audit standards.
Support the preparation of monthly operations reports to be shared with the Beira office.
Carry out other operational tasks as assigned by the Operations Manager or Operations Assistant.
Candidate profile
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in Portuguese and English.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
This role is well suited to candidates looking to build solid experience in operations, logistics, and procurement within an international health organization, with exposure to formal compliance processes and program support.
