As our Procurement Assistant, you will be the crucial link between the operational needs of the construction site and the best solutions on the market. You will be responsible for developing and implementing the company's purchasing strategy, acting as a true business partner for the construction and administration teams. Your insight will help António, Chief Operating Officer, and all managers to make informed decisions, strengthening our position in the competitive market of Maputo Province and beyond.

Responsibilities that Define Your Day to Day

Our Procurement Assistant will assume a broad portfolio of responsibilities, from strategic vision to tactical execution. These are the areas where your expertise will make a difference:

Strategic and Operational Process Management

• Full Cycle Management: Conduct the end-to-end procurement process, from the initial survey of project needs, through rigorous consultation with the national and international market, to the detailed comparative analysis of proposals.
• High Level Negotiation: Lead complex negotiations with suppliers to obtain the best commercial conditions, payment terms, guarantees and, consequently, the best prices.
• Execution and Control: Issuance needs orders and tireless monitoring of deliveries, ensuring that work schedules are not compromised.
• Cost Reduction: Constantly analyze acquisition costs, identifying and implementing concrete opportunities to reduce expenses without compromising quality.

Relationship with Suppliers and Documentation

• Supplier Portfolio: Develop, manage and optimize a robust network of national and international suppliers, continually evaluating their performance and reliability.
• Comparative Maps: Create and maintain comparative maps of suppliers and proposals, providing Management with clear data for decision making.
• Technical Compliance: Ensure that all purchased materials strictly comply with the technical specifications of each project, ensuring the integrity and safety of constructions.
• Documentary Organization: Keep all purchasing and supplier documentation organized, updated and ready for audit.

Articulation and Teamwork

The success of this role depends on impeccable coordination with the different areas of the company. You will work in close collaboration with the Operations Directorate, Construction Managers, Budget Measurer and the Administration department, ensuring that the flow of information and materials is fluid and efficient.

Technical Training and Experience

• Academic Training: Secondary Technician Diploma in Civil Construction or a similar and directly relevant area.
• Proven Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing or acquisitions functions. Previous experience in the construction sector will be considered a significant advantage.
• Market Knowledge: A good knowledge of the construction market in Mozambique, including suppliers, price trends and supply dynamics.
• Work Tools: Advanced command of Microsoft Excel and other data management and analysis tools.

Core Skills

• Analysis and Evaluation: Proven ability in cost analysis and critical evaluation of complex commercial proposals.
• Contractual Knowledge: Familiarity with concepts and practices of contracts, supplies and supplier relationship management.
• Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate assertively with suppliers, both national and international.
• Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills, essential for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
• Organization and Rigor: Be highly organized, rigorous and have extraordinary attention to detail.
• Resilience: Ability to work autonomously, in a team and, fundamentally, under pressure in dynamic construction environments.
