The SLB is recruiting a Sourcing and Supplier Specialist for Maputo, on a full-time and on-site. This role is suited to professionals with intermediate experience in supply chain and procurement, capable of managing strategic purchasing, developing suppliers, and ensuring contracts, costs, quality, and risk are aligned with business needs.

Role overview

The professional will be responsible for leading the sourcing process locally, with a focus on achieving the best balance between cost, lead time, quality, and supply reliability. They will also act as the main point of contact for a group of suppliers, tracking performance, contract implementation, and resolution of critical relationship issues.

In practice, this is a role with a strong coordination component across internal Procurement & Sourcing teams, Product Lines, and suppliers, helping to speed up contract implementation and support decisions based on performance indicators and total cost analysis.

Main responsibilities

  • Define and track supplier performance goals, including cost reduction, quality improvement, and lead time reduction.

  • Prepare scorecards and lead regular performance reviews with key indicators, strategic positioning, and a three-year business outlook.

  • Coordinate with Sourcing teams, the Procurement & Sourcing Center, Product Lines, and local teams to explain and implement contracts more quickly.

  • Review and consolidate internal demand, supporting the prioritization of needs across departments.

  • Manage the activation of new contracts and monitor their use, proposing corrective actions when necessary.

  • Prepare for and lead negotiations in line with the company's interests.

  • Select tools and target products and carry out total integration cost analyses, considering price, timing, and quality costs.

  • Design and execute supplier development plans.

  • Conduct supplier risk assessments and ensure this information is regularly updated.

  • Lead the resolution of questions, conflicts, audits, incident investigations, and remediation plans.

  • Support supplier onboarding in systems such as the Supply Chain Portal, Global Traceability, and future business platforms.

  • Promote continuous actions to reduce waste in time, money, and resources.

Desired profile

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field.

  • Between 3 and 5 years of solid experience in supply chain roles.

  • Fluency in English and Portuguese, with strong communication skills in a professional context.

  • Proven experience in sourcing and supplier management.

  • Ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge in practice.

  • Analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and capacity to work independently.
