Provide independent consultancy on major transformation projects, new products, outsourcing and structural changes.

• Audit Execution and Delivery: Take full, end-to-end responsibility for the quality, timeliness and impact of all audit reports issued, ensuring compliance with the AIA (Absa Internal Audit) methodology, IIA (Institute of Internal Auditors) standards and the Code of Ethics professional.

• Interaction and Impact with Stakeholders: Lead high-level debates with executive leadership to influence sustainable corrective actions. Present annual statements on the effectiveness of governance and issue periodic reports (at least every six months) to the Audit Committee on the sufficiency of human resources and team skills.

• Monitoring and Remediation: Closely monitor the corrective actions implemented by management to mitigate identified weaknesses, assessing whether the improvements introduced operate in a robust and timely manner.

• Regulatory and Compliance: Serve as the main independent voice before the Audit Committee and maintain a transparent, cooperative and constructive relationship with local regulators (Banco de Moçambique), external auditors and internal control functions (Risk, Finance and Compliance).

• Team Management and Leadership: Develop and lead a high-performance audit team, ensuring high standards of conduct, talent management, succession plans and ongoing training, using co-sourcing or temporary group assignments if necessary.

Candidate Profile and Required Requirements

Required Academic Qualifications:

• Completed postgraduate degree and Professional Qualification in the area of Financial Sciences (mandatory).

• Completed postgraduate degree and Professional Qualification in the area of Statistics (mandatory).

Experience and Skills Techniques:

• Consolidated and proven executive experience in internal auditing, risk management or internal controls functions in the banking and financial sector, ideally held in Management or Senior Management positions.

• Solid knowledge of corporate governance frameworks, enterprise risk management (ERMF) and IIA standards.

• Capacious leadership profile demonstrated to manage multidisciplinary teams, manage departmental budgets and interact at the Board of Directors level.

• Fluency and advanced command of the English Language (written and spoken), essential for integration with Absa Group's regional forums and global reports.
