Role Overview and Strategic Impact
The Accountant will play an absolutely central role in ensuring transparency, fiscal responsibility and strict adherence to standards international financial reporting. Its daily performance ensures that each resource applied to communities produces the intended impact, with total integrity.
This is not a merely operational role; it requires a strategic vision capable of anticipating risks, optimizing cash flows and ensuring that budget execution faithfully reflects the objectives of the organization's humanitarian mission. The professional will be the guardian of financial compliance.
Detailed and Day-to-Day Responsibilities
The daily life of this professional is dynamic, requiring surgical precision and a holistic view of the financial management of projects. Responsibilities were designed to ensure impeccable control of operations.
Management of Financial Statements and Reporting
- Autonomously prepare financial statements at the end of each financial year, whenever requested by superior hierarchy.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports with a high level of analytical detail.
- Transparently document the total financing received and expenses incurred in each analysis cycle.
- Present a statement of the project balance and the respective budgetary execution compared to plan.
- Write detailed explanatory notes for all budget headings that present significant variations, justifying the deviations.
Bank Control and Account Reconciliation
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations regularly, in close coordination with the Treasury department.
- Perform periodic account reconciliations, maintaining strict control over advances for travel, seminars and other authorized purposes.
- Ensure that all accounting movements reflect the financial reality of the organization, without discrepancies.
Financing Analysis and Acquisition Compliance
- Thoroughly review all requests for financing before payments are made, analyzing the budgetary framework and coverage.
- Validate the existence of evidence of approval by the responsible managers, ensuring that no expenses escape established governance.
- Ensure strict compliance with acquisition procedures, including verifying that at least three quotations have been obtained for expenses equal to or greater than 10,000.00 MT.
- Reclassify the expenses incurred and proceed with the respective accounting records in a timely manner.
- Review the processes related to the mosquito net distribution campaign, organizing them meticulously for consideration by senior management.
- Ensure the timely execution of all payments, in accordance with the institution's policies and procedures.
Audits and Financial Governance
- Prepare and organize accounting records for provide full and transparent support for internal and external audits.
- Actively collaborate with auditors, providing all necessary documentation without friction and ensuring a fluid review process.

Academic Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Accounting, Accounting and Auditing, Business Administration (specialization in Accounting) or Bachelor's Degree in Commerce.
- Training obtained from a recognized and duly accredited higher education institution in the national panorama.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a similar position, preferably in the context of an international NGO.
- Professional qualifications such as CA, CPA, ACCA, or other internationally recognized equivalents constitute a strong competitive advantage.
