Human Resources Manager (m/f) – Absa Bank Mozambique, Maputo

What the role involves

As HR Manager, you will be the central link between HR, Finance, INSS and the business units. Its focus is to ensure that HR administration, salary processing, compensation policies and performance management work in an integrated manner and in compliance with Mozambican labor legislation.

Daily responsibilities include:

  • Manage and optimize HRIS, ensuring quality, data integrity and automation of operational flows.
  • Analyze employee data (hirings, mobility, departures, absenteeism) to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Produce HR reports (headcount, costs, KPIs) that support strategic decision making.
  • Ensure document compliance and strict compliance with labor legislation.
  • Lead the HR team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous development.

Your contribution will be visible in three areas critical:

Compensation and Benefits

  • Coordinate annual salary review cycles with equity and budget alignment.
  • Perform market benchmarking to ensure external competitiveness and internal consistency.
  • Supervise monthly payroll processing with accuracy, confidentiality and meeting deadlines.
  • Manage the benefits portfolio (insurance, subsidies) and relationship with suppliers.

Performance Management

  • Implement and monitor the integrated performance management cycle, ensuring transparency and effectiveness.
  • Align individual and team objectives with the organization's strategic goals.
  • Support leaders in defining measurable objectives and a culture of continuous feedback.

Governance and Control

  • Ensure compliance with requirements labor, tax and regulatory issues, mitigating legal and reputational risks.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring the reliability of information.
  • Design and monitor operational controls and risk management policies.
