What the role involves
As a Product Risk Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire product development life cycle (PDLC), from conception to discontinuation. Your focus will be on ensuring that all products introduced, changed or withdrawn comply with the bank's internal governance standards, regulatory expectations and strategic risk frameworks.
You will lead the proposal and development phases of new products, guiding the business areas in the preparation and submission of complete documentation for authorization. You will also ensure that pre- and post-launch conditions are met within defined deadlines, coordinating risk reviews and remediation actions.
Where your work makes an impact
Your role is central to product governance and compliance. You will be the owner of the PRGC pack (Product Risk Governance Committee), responsible for minutes, meeting logistics and ensuring that all final approvals from the main risks and stakeholders are secured before any proposal is taken to the committee. You will also manage the product registry, ensuring its completeness and accuracy.
In the area of remediation and control, you will deal with findings from internal audits, regulatory reviews and assessments of the control environment. You will track and report product risk events, including dormant products requiring re-approval. In addition, you will monthly monitor product risk KRIs (Key Risk Indicators), ensuring that all indicators outside of risk appetite have specific action plans and reporting the information to compliance as part of Conduct Risk monitoring.
Which profile makes sense
We are looking for a professional with higher education in Business Studies, Commerce, Management or equivalent areas (required). It is essential to have proven experience in product risk management, governance and compliance in the financial sector, preferably in a banking environment. Knowledge of the ERMF and ORRMF frameworks will be an important differentiator.
We value clear communication skills, critical thinking and ability to manage multiple internal and external stakeholders. You will be the interlocutor between the country and the center regarding NAPA reporting and product risk, so fluency in English is essential. We also expect you to provide regular updates to senior leadership, including progress reports, risk assessments, and resource utilization.
