For employers: publish, screen and decide on criteria.
This is the one section of the Guide written for the hiring side. It covers the three decisions that set the quality of a hire long before the interview: how the vacancy is written, which criteria were defined, and how what arrives is screened.
A badly written vacancy attracts the wrong applications and deters the right ones — the articles set out what an advert has to say about the role, the requirements, the location and the salary, and what happens when each is missing. Screening, in turn, is only defensible if the criteria exist before the applications arrive: without them what remains are impressions, and impressions cannot be explained to a candidate or to a court.
The guides describe the process, not the platform: they serve someone hiring with a spreadsheet as much as someone hiring with a system.
