Commercial Operations Manager Opportunity

CONTACT is recruiting, on behalf of a client in the agricultural inputs sector, a Commercial Operations Manager (m/f) for Matola. This role is suited to professionals with experience in commercial management, logistics, and field operations, who can coordinate multiple business units, ensure the efficient running of stores and warehouses, and track results with a strong focus on customer service, operational control, and financial performance.

What this role involves

Reporting to Management, the successful candidate will be responsible for the integrated management of the company’s commercial, administrative, and logistics operations. The position includes overseeing the warehouse and store in Machava, as well as supporting the store network in Chokwé, Beira, Chimoio, and Nampula.

• Coordinate the commercial and operational activities of the different business units

• Ensure the efficient operation of stores and warehouses

• Plan and control stock, logistics, and distribution

• Monitor the performance of each unit and report results to Management

• Control operating costs, commercial margins, and performance indicators

• Implement commercial and operational procedures

• Manage, train, and evaluate teams

• Develop and manage the customer portfolio

This position has a direct impact on service quality, product availability, logistics efficiency, and the achievement of the commercial and financial targets set by the Group. It is a key role for someone who can balance day-to-day operations, team coordination, and consistent performance analysis.

The profile that fits this role

The company is looking for a professional with a degree in Agronomy, Management, Logistics, or a related field, and at least 5 years of experience in management roles. Experience leading teams and managing stores or warehouses across different locations will be especially valued.

• Experience in the agricultural, agro-industrial, or agricultural inputs sector will be an advantage

• Proficiency in standard computer applications

• Strong command of stock management systems, logistics, and the analysis of operational and financial indicators

• Fluent Portuguese; English skills will be preferred

• Leadership, organisation, planning, and decision-making skills

• Strong analytical understanding of commercial and operational KPIs

• Availability for frequent travel nationwide

• Mozambican nationality
