Britam Mozambique is hiring a Claims Analyst for Maputo. This role is suited to professionals with solid insurance-sector experience and strong technical expertise in claims management, with a focus on thorough assessment, procedural compliance, risk control, and high-quality customer service.
What this role involves
The Claims Analyst will play a central role in managing and settling claims, ensuring the department operates in line with internal guidelines, regulatory requirements, and the company’s business strategy. This is a position with direct impact on customer experience, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation.
Inspect, assess, and settle claims and losses accurately and within established deadlines.
Interpret insurance policies and clearly explain applicable coverage, exclusions, and benefits to clients.
Ensure compliance with internal procedures, operational controls, and service level agreements.
Review service provider reports, checking quality, compliance, and adherence to agreed standards.
Implement internal audit recommendations aimed at reducing risk exposure.

The profile that fits this opportunity
Britam is looking for a professional with relevant higher education qualifications and proven insurance-sector experience, able to combine technical knowledge, regulatory understanding, and clear communication with different stakeholders.
Completed higher education degree in Financial and Insurance Management, Monetary Economics and Insurance, or related fields.
At least 4 years of experience in the insurance sector.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to the insurance industry.
Professional insurance qualification such as COP or ACII.
Fluency in spoken and written English.
