About Fundação Ariel Glaser

Fundação Ariel works in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MISAU), provincial and district health teams, and other national and international partners, as well as community-based organizations, to support integrated HIV prevention and treatment services: prevention of mother-to-child transmission, pediatric and adult care and treatment, psychosocial support, literacy, and community engagement in Maputo Province and Cabo Delgado.

The Foundation's mission is to strengthen public and civil society institutions in preventing, treating, and mitigating the impact of HIV/AIDS through capacity building, research, advocacy, and implementation of family-centered health programs, contributing to reducing mother-to-child HIV transmission and ensuring children's inclusion and access to prevention services.

What you will do day-to-day

• In coordination with the Technical Director, define the technical vision of the Foundation's program in the province and the strategy it must follow;
• Ensure technical guidance, staff management, and supervision so that program objectives are met within deadlines and budget;
• Lead the transition management of US Government-funded support, in alignment with guidance from the donor, MISAU, and SPS/DPS, and support the SPS/DPS in implementing the transition plan in Maputo Province;
• Coordinate technical assistance to the DPS, SDSMAS, and autonomous health facilities in maternal and child health, prevention of mother-to-child transmission, HIV care and treatment, nutrition, psychosocial support, laboratory, pharmacy, health technology, and monitoring and evaluation;
• In coordination with provincial advisors and district coordinators, identify capacity-building needs and ensure that annual work plans and budgets for the technical department are ready on time for agreements with program beneficiaries;
• Lead the recruitment, training, and supervision of technical staff, and ensure that reports required by the Government and donors arrive on time, providing feedback to teams and health facilities;
• Ensure good practices are documented and shared with partners — DPS, SDSMAS, and community-based organizations.
